A WORD TO THE HERD
Notes from the Presidents
Hello Bovine Bikers! What a fabulous Faux Fall Rally we enjoyed in Door County the Weekend of August 19-20-21. We had great routes and scenery with some rain, but not enough to dampen our spirits. Thanks so much to Pete & Trish Noffke and Bill & Sandy Moor for hosting. All the routes, the “bovine heaven” food and beverages for social time, and the good company of friends all contributed to a huge success.
We also attended, along with about 20 other COWs teams, the 2016 MTR in Ankeny, Iowa. Everyone agreed that the High Trestle Bridge was a highlight of the event- especially riding the lit bridge at night!
The COWs 2017 Spring Rally will be hosted by Bruce & Carol Olson in Waupaca. The Olsons and their team of helpers have lots of fun activities planned. Please see the Rides Section for more information.
Don’t forget to keep the Wrangler Rides in mind. We are always looking for members to host these smaller regional rides – see the Rides Section for more information. Also, it is not too early to start thinking about MTR 2017 which will be held in Dublin, Ohio on Labor Day weekend.
Let’s hope that this winter is a short one with just enough snow for good skiing and snowshoeing. We look forward to seeing you in Waup0aca for COWs Spring Rally.
It’s now mid-November, in the 60’s, and we’re still pedaling for the fun of it! We hope everyone is enjoying a fabulous Wisconsin fall season!

CATTLE CHUTE — Penned by the Secretaries
We ended 2016 with 78 Member teams! Having great locations for the Spring (Marshfield) and the Faux Fall rally (Door County) helped, as did the booth at the Wheel and Sprocket Bike Expo in the Spring! Plus our members are always promoting the club – leading to some new memberships received after the MTR.
We’ve been busy trying to keep all of the information up to date on the website – but continue to deal with problems that we recently realized might partially be explained by our home computer being an Apple (hence we are having to use our Work computers as we can’t even get onto the Administrative page with our Mac).
If you aren’t already part of our Facebook Group page, you might want to consider joining. It has really worked great for group trips to some of the tandem rallies in other parts of the country as well as providing a forum for asking questions on equipment. If you don’t know how to join the Facebook page just send us an e-mail and we will provide instructions.
We hosted a Wrangler ride this fall – and had a great turnout and enjoyed some great food at the after ride feast! Please consider hosting a Wrangler ride next year. Just send us a quick note at (firstname.lastname@example.org) of your intent to host in your neighborhood and we’ll get it posted on our site. Follow these 3 simple steps: Book it, Plan it (route maps, food), Enjoy it!
Let us know if you have any comments or suggestions!
