The COWs offer paid membership into their organization. Some of the privileges include insurance through the League of American Bicyclists while participating in planned COWs events, regular notification of upcoming events via snail mail or e-mail , and free registration into all COWs rallies.

Membership rates are per family and paid through December of the current year.

The COWs collects these fees, not to make any kind of profit as all positions in the organization are unpaid and volunteer, but as a way to cover the costs associated with the web site, postage, route planning and cue sheets, taxes, insurance, and other incidentals.

The COWs organization has provided a Spring Rally for several decades and Fall Rallys since 2004. The Spring Rally consists of a Friday “Ice Cream” ride, a Saurday ride and optional banquet, and a Sunday morning “Breakfast” ride. The COWs annual meeting is held at the conclusion of the banquet on Saturday. The Fall Rally consists of a Saturday ride and an informal social afterwards. Additional rides may be available at the discretion of the route coordinators (remember, its all volunteer).

Starting in 2010, the COWs will also offer “Regional” one day rides. These rides will be organized by a team local to a particular region of Wisconsin. These will typically be a late morning/early afternoon Saturday or Sunday ride. These rides will not have formal hotel arrangement or social activities planned.
