HELLO COWS MEMBERS. Time to get MOO-V-ING on plans for the Fall Rally in Tomahawk, WI. The Peppler’s and Ross’s are looking forward to turning the herd loose in Lincoln County right at the start of the Fall color change. The host motel is Rodeway Inn & Suites; 1738 Comfort Drive, Tomahawk, WI 715-453-8900. We have 15 rooms blocked at a rate of $80/night plus tax; double occupancy/queen. Tell them you are with the rest of the COWS. It is possible more rooms will be available after August 18. They have advised us they will be happy to put your name on a waiting list if our block of rooms is already filled when you call.
Other motels that you might find suitable if the Rodeway is full are as follows (pricing may vary slightly but you can check directly with them if necessary):
Bridge Inn and Restaurant; 15 Deer Park Road, Tomahawk, WI 715-453-5323. Rate is $68/night plus tax; double occupancy/2 queen. Located right in Tomahawk about 1.5 miles from host motel.
Super 8; 108 W Mohawk Drive, BUS Rt 51/North 4th Street, Tomahawk, WI 715-453-5210. Rates start at $82/night plus tax. Located near downtown and 2 miles from host motel.
Best Western Lake Aire Motel & Resort; N11925 County Road L, Tomahawk, WI 715-453-5189. Rates start at $78/night plus tax with 2-night minimum stay. Located north of Tomahawk and 7.75 miles from host motel.
We expect many of our ride routes will go by or near any of these 3 alternative motel locations at one point or the other.
Looking for something unusual to see on our Fall ride? Here are a couple website links to an interesting area that will be available for many of our Fall Rally riders to visit if they wish: Grandfather Falls Hydro with the Ice Age Trail along the original river channel and the fantastic wooden penstocks is less than a 1-mile detour from at least 2 of the routes planned for September. Even if you don’t want to hike the river trail, a quick detour and stop right off State Road 107 to see the wooden penstocks is a site you can’t just find anywhere.
